Art Dubai 2020 Campaign

Art Dubai’s 2020 visual campaign applies the logo’s grid to dynamically deconstruct layers of the fair’s identity and programming, while also looking at the fair’s role within the vibrant cultural ecosystem of the fair’s home city, Dubai.

The Art Dubai 2020 campaign is a series of overlapping layers of figures, motifs, graphics and images, illustrating the accumulation of of programmes, initiatives, communities and the build-up of the fair. This process also opens room for unpredictability and playfulness within the system. Taking Art Dubai’s logo bars as a starting point, the campaign uses a grid formation with shifting blocks as a tool to illustrate data and information from and about the fair.

Feeding into the system are data, visuals and drivers that map out Art Dubai’s role in being a major catalyst in the conversations on art from the Gulf and the surrounding MENASA region; its identity as the world’s most international art fair with a commitment to cultivating a culture of discovery and innovative programming; its impact as talent incubator across art practices as well as education, mentorship and thought leadership; its role as part of a vibrant local art ecology across the UAE and the city of Dubai as its home base over the past 14 years.
