A special invitation for creatives to join in on a CAD studio artists’ tradition of regular dinners about town. This series of gathering over meals has been developed in response to transitioning from formality to familiarity when joining a new cohort. With trust as a main ingredient, the dinners evoke a collective agreement of resistance to external attempts to rush the sense of community. Out of this recipe, a broth of debate, honest conversations and potential collaborations emerges. In the spirit of the Slow Curry Community “rules” and concerned themes of “investments”, dinners are self-paid and are not to exceed AED 30 per person.
Date and Time: Tuesday August 29, 7pm
Location: Calicut Paragon, Al Karama
CAD Studio Dubai-based artist, Nadine Ghandour leads a workshop of drawing-from-film with selections featuring short videos from archival, satellite and personal footage exploring multiple viewpoints played on loop.
This alternative exercise in drawing is not technical but rather focuses on pace, looking, finding, compiling, adding and subtraction with a continuously developing composition.
