Throughout the last 25 years, Galerie Barbara Thumm has established a distinct program and realized ambitious installations not only in the gallery but also in various project spaces in Berlin. The gallery program emphasizes on conceptual and representational work, which combines various media and is multifaceted in its artistic strategies. The gallery represents highly acclaimed Afro-American, Cuban and African positions, which in combination to our strong Latin-American program adds to our decentralized global profile. The gallery has a decisive feminist agenda and for over a decade has exclusively represented the artist estate of Anna Oppermann and the late Teresa Burga. The gallery is dedicated to develop new digital gallery formats. In 2020 Galerie Barbara Thumm founded the online platform and network New Viewings.
Galerie Barbara Thumm has participated regularly at international art fairs such as Art Basel | Basel, Art Basel | Miami Beach, ARCO Madrid and Frieze NY.
