Founded by curator Aleya Hamza in Cairo in 2013, Gypsum currently presents an international, cross-disciplinary program centered on an engagement with socio-political, cultural and formal themes. The gallery represents a group of artists living and working between the Middle East and Europe whose rigorous and singular art practice varies in medium, form and approach. Gypsum is committed to the production and dissemination of contemporary art and to forging long-standing relationships with its roster of artists.
