First founded in 1925 by Jeanne Bucher in Paris, the gallery was subsequently directed in 1947 by Jean-François Jaeger, its current president. Since 2003, the gallery is run by Véronique Jaeger and has been working under the name Galerie Jaeger Bucher since 2008, embodying the three spans of its history. The gallery has shown avant-garde historical artists such as Kandinsky, Giacometti, Léger and Ernst as well as main figures of modern art from the 50’s such as Staël, Dubuffet and Vieira da Silva and, more recently, international contemporary artists such as Zarina Hashmi, Fabienne Verdier and Susumu Shingu amongst others.
