Created by George Vamvakidis and Stathis Panagoulis in 2002, The Breeder has been a pioneer in the development of the contemporary art scene in Athens, by facilitating the long-term development of its artists’ careers and liaising with international galleries, curators, institutions, museums and collectors. In 2008 the gallery moved to Metaxourgio, the up and coming arts area of downtown Athens, and in 2013 opened an additional gallery space in Monaco.
