Established in 2011 as an artist initiative, SANATORIUM has maintained its innovative spirit following its transformation into a gallery, hosting numerous national and international curatorial exhibitions in collaboration with various institutions, artists, and curators. The gallery focuses on projects that emphasise critical thinking and experimentation, presenting new aesthetics and contributing intellectually to the artistic landscape.

SANATORIUM actively participates in many international art fairs and organises events across various media, including printed materials, tours, talks, art gatherings, and performative works. It supports both the artists it represents and the art initiatives it partners with, helping to develop their projects beyond the gallery space. SANATORIUM also continues to offer free art events at its two venues in Karaköy.
