Athi-Patra Ruga, The Night of The Long Knives Iv, 2014, Archival Ink-Jet Print on Photorag Baryta, 150 x 190 cm, Courtesy of the Artist and Whatiftheworld
Founded in Cape Town in 2008, the gallery programme initially supported a group of young contemporary South African artists whose practice was underpinned by global and local contemporary art movements. These artists now have, to a large degree, transformed the South African art landscape and the gallery continues to represent these now established artists, as well as a second generation of young African-based artists. All exhibitions are accompanied by in-house published catalogues and artist monographs.
