THE ART BAR

The Art Bar is a unique music programme, located on Fort Island, in the heart of Madinat Jumeirah.

Inspirational, international and local DJs performed in the coolest venue in town, against the backdrop of our 2022 commission SAND FLOW by Fernando Garcia-Dory, a new multi-site installation at the fair and in a variety of locations across Dubai. Sand Flow will manifest in a range of places and moments, combining visions of Dubai’s past, present and future and examining the ways in which the multiplicity of cultures and communities inhabit the city and their contributions to it. The artwork will incorporate archaeology, hydrology, urbanism and transport as well as the Middle East’s rich oral storytelling traditions, heritage and crafts.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 9

6-9pm

Patrick/Trix

Patrick Chouchani aka TRIX became interested in the electronic music scene while living in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was there that he started DJing, in 2005.

Back to Beirut in 2007, Electronic music was still unheard and TRIX became devoted to find a hotspot to release his unique sound. He was attracted to The Basement’s electronic and alternative sound and soon joined this renowned club’s family and received their support. This motivated him to keep on moving forward, and become fully invested in his passion.

It is not easy to make a career out of something you love doing, especially when loads of competition are involved, but when you are driven everything is possible. The world of DJ-ing is much bigger then anyone expected. If hundreds and thousands of people do what you do, how can someone set himself or herself apart?
